There is a lot that goes on when you or a professional is grooming your dog. Dog grooming can cause anxiety as well as hearing damage. We work with a lot of dog groomers and they absolutely love our products. Here is why:
In-Ear Protection For Dog Grooming
Dogs either love or hate grooming day – there really is no inbetween. If you’re like us and you take your dog to a professional groomer, this is especially true. Regardless of whether your dog is enamored or just plain irritated with the thought of bath, anxiety happens. Working along the lines of a weighted blanket, our specialized dog earplugs help bring comfort to a nervous pup.
Water In Ears
While many professional dog groomers use cotton or some other material to help keep dog’s ears dry while bathing – our patented dog earplugs do the trick! No need to change them out as their material will naturally repel water and help keep dogs from getting the dreaded ‘water logged’ ears.
Here’s what most of us don’t think about – the noise level involved in dog grooming. In a recent study, researchers found that the dryers used in dog grooming average around 100 decibels (source). When it comes to a dryer’s high-pitched sound, they can hear noises that reach more than 45K Hertz, whereas humans can hear sounds only up to about 23K Hertz. This is terribly concerning when you take into account that a dog’s sense of hearing is about four times as sensitive as ours.
We specialize in dog hearing protection - because we love dogs! Here at CrittEar® we are serious about your dog’s hearing. Building on a career in audiology, our founder wanted to use her knowledge to help dogs with noise anxiety, aid dogs with firework fear, therapy/service assist working dogs who serve and protect, provide ear protection to hunting dogs, and assist every dog with noise anxiety management. Because once a dog loses their hearing - it’s gone. We’re passionate about helping dogs - that’s why we make the only patented dog earplug on the market.
